01

Specify the approach-flow duty behind the speed label

Machine speed alone does not define the polymer's shear history. Map stock consistency, pumps, pressure screens, cleaners, contact times and current addition points. State the retention, drainage or formation limitation that a new grade must address and which parts of the hardware are fixed for the trial.

Ask the supplier to explain whether its proposal requires useful adsorption before shear, survival through a stage or a later system component. Do not turn a claimed high-molecular profile into proof of performance on every high-speed machine.

02

Require a documented post-shear comparison

Prepare candidate and incumbent with matched water, active basis and solution age. Reproduce the sequence and relevant shear in the laboratory method, recording its limits. Retention measured before the challenge should not be substituted for the accepted post-shear result.

Where a later component is part of the program, retain its timing and measure the useful response after the full sequence. An attractive aggregate size under gentle mixing is supporting observation, not the release criterion. Keep raw readings and repeat points so another laboratory can understand the ranking.

03

Verify the proposed addition route is practical

Check dilution capacity, injection hardware, available mixing and residence at the intended operating throughput. A sample prepared with a long special contact period may not fit a short approach-flow path. Identify any required unit modification before comparing the chemical price.

Read total and ash retention with drainage, formation, white-water solids and grade quality during machine confirmation. Record speed and other changes separately; do not credit a production increase to the polymer when the comparison also changed furnish, machine settings or chemical architecture.

04

Tie the bid to a repeatable machine window

Request the identified sample code, preparation method, proposed addition point and evidence for the actual furnish and sequence. Separate technical-service or hardware commitments from chemical delivery unless they are explicitly included. Price only qualified use rates and demonstrated benefits.

Keep the accepted flow and shear context with the order and receiving checks. Revisit the approval after meaningful approach-flow or speed changes rather than treating high-speed suitability as a permanent property of a catalogue grade. The technical team should retain the limits that were demonstrated, not only the preferred dose.

05

Connect qualification to the order

Keep the related operating qualification with the purchase record. Further checks include Cationic PAM Retention Aid: Write a Furnish-Based Purchase Specification and Dual Retention System Quotes: Replace One Component Without Losing the Baseline.

Request coded material through the papermaking PAM sample and quotation brief. Include paper grade, furnish, additive sequence, preparation limits, acceptance method, quantity and destination. Separate demonstrated results from conditions still awaiting a trial.
